PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Genovese Drug Stores chairman and president Leonard Genovese, who was also the 1998 to 1999 chairman of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, and Jerome Weinberger, the former chief executive of Gray Drug, received the Sheldon W. Fantle Lifetime Achievement award at this year's NACDS Annual Meeting here last month.
In announcing the honors, NACDS interim president and chief executive officer Bob Hannan called Genovese "one of the nicest guys in our business--a man who grew up with both his company and the chain drug industry."
Hannan then went on to acknowledge Weinberger's contributions to the industry during his long career. …
