Board OKs Head Start plan

Kanawha Board of Education members Monday voted to accept animprovement plan for the county's Head Start program, aiming to fixa minor payroll discrepancy identified in a recent federal audit.

The audit, which encompassed all 33 Kanawha Head Start locationsand the program's administrative office at the board's RoxalanaAnnex, found Head Start Director Karen Williams sometimes signedworkers' time sheets after they were entered into the district'spayroll system.
